Sans hubby Kanye West, Kim Kardashian looked amazing for the Met Gala in NYC on May 1. Get the details on her look below.
Kim Kardashian slayed, as usual, at the Met Gala. The super high-profile event is held on the first Monday of May every year, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
Her hair was done by Michael Silva. She’s worked with him for years, but not super recently. We’re glad they are back together! He used TONI&GUY products in her hair. Get her frizz free look with their Firm Hold Hairspray, which he Instagrammed.
Her new bob was styled sleek and straight, in a center part. To the point, classic and super sexy!
Michael told us about the inspiration: “When creating the look we decided to keep the hair sharp and strong in juxtaposition with the soft sensual quality of the dress. Thinking of TONI&GUY’s BOLD&YOU movement we really wanted a BOLD&STRONG look that still remained classic and achievable for everyday.”
Her makeup focused on super long and thick lashes. Her eyes looked bright with a pop of white on the inner corners. Mario Dedivanovic did her makeup using CHANEL products. He explained the look:
“I used CHANEL Ombre Première Longwear Cream Eyeshadow in Undertone all over her lids as a base of color. Then, to create a thicker texture, I layered CHANEL Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Visone in the crease and a little along lower lashline. I applied CHANEL Ombre Première Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in Sable, but not too close to the inner corner. I kept it more on the outside, with very little on the lower lashline.
I added some CHANEL Le Crayon Khôl Intense Eye Pencil in Noir from the center of her eyelids out, slightly winging at the ends. Then, tons of CHANEL Le Volume Mascara on the top and bottom lashes.
I created her lip look with CHANEL Le Crayon Lèvres Precision Lip Definer in Natural, followed by CHANEL Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in N°20.”
She wore white Vivienne Westwood with absolutely no jewelry. Very toned down from last year! And the exact opposite look from Kylie Jenner‘s bejeweled Donatella Versace creation!
Last year, Kim rocked the wet hair look. MIZANI Global Artistic Director Cesar Ramirez created the style, going as far as bleaching Kim’s eyebrows for the dramatic look, to correspond with her silver Balmain dress.
This year, Kendall Jenner rocked a less severe, more wearable version of the wet hair look, along with a red lip.
