Uh oh! Jay Cutler just got a big slap in the face when the Chicago Bears traded up for the number two position in the Apr. 27 NFL draft to snag UNC quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. We’ve got EXCLUSIVE details on how he’s furious with his former team.
Jay Cutler is a quarterback without a home in the NFL these days, and his former team the Chicago Bears made it VERY clear that he’s officially been replaced. In a shocking move, the team traded for San Francisco’s number two NFL draft position to specifically nab North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, 22. The selection was the biggest surprise in the first round of the draft, as he wasn’t expected to be picked so high.
The team’s move to secure Mitchell has the 34-year-old NFL vet seeing red. “Jay wants to play again in the NFL and he is definitely upset that Mitchell was just picked. He wants to be on a team and prove the Bears wrong that they got rid of him and picked a new QB,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Jay’s an 11-year veteran of the league with the last eight years spent in Chicago. His stint there was plagued by injuries and poor play as he never got the squad anywhere close to being Super Bowl caliber, let alone a playoff regular. He was released by the team in Mar. 2017 and he turns 34-years-old on Apr. 29. So far no teams have seemed interested in bringing him aboard.

There were plenty of other teams looking for quarterbacks during the first round of the draft though, as not only did the Bears grab Mitchell, the Kansas City Chiefs moved up from the 27th to the 10th pick via Buffalo to get Texas A&M quarterback Patrick Mahomes, 21. They knew that Cleveland and Arizona were both lurking at picks 12 and 13 and were looking for a QB. The Houston Texans needed a new QB and went for NCAA Champion Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, 21, to take over Brock Osweiler‘s old spot. That’s got to hurt Jay knowing plenty of teams want a quarterback, but none of them want him.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Jay will find a new team? Or will he just eventually retire?
