Boston Marathon Bombing survivor, Adrianne Haslet, was not pleased when she went to see the memorial the city put up on April 15 — because it was placed in the complete wrong spot. So, she went OFF on Boston in an Instagram rant, which you can watch right here.
“Nice work, Boston. Real good job laying the wreath in front of the wrong place,” Adrianne Haslet can be heard saying, sarcastically, on Instagram, in a video where she shows off the Boston Marathon Bombing memorial wreath. “Nice work, that’s real offensive to everyone. Appreciate it. It’s cool. So glad I came down to see this. F***ing a**holes.”
“I bet if we had a permanent memorial people would remember where the actual attack happened,” Adrianne captioned her post. “#sooffended.” The bombing actually took place in front of the Forum restaurant, which is one door over from the Starbucks where the tribute was placed. Eventually, Adrianne decided to move the wreath over on her own.
Adrianne lost her leg during the tragic 2013 bombings, which killed three and injured more that 250. She made a huge comeback, though, and ran the race once again in 2016 with a prosthetic leg. Obviously, this is an incredibly sensitive subject for her, and hits terribly close to home, so we can understand why she would be so offended.
Although she didn’t run the race again in 2017, Adrianne was on the sidelines cheering on the 30,000+ runners. “Tough weekend but it’s in the past and I can’t wait to cheer until the very last runners come through,” she gushed on Instagram. Boston Strong, indeed.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Adrianne is right to be so upset over the memorial’s placement?
