Not again! Tom Brady had just been reunited with his Super Bowl jersey when his beloved uniform was stolen from him for a second time. To add insult to injury, this latest dastardly caper was clearly an inside job!
Okay, so this second jersey heist (“Jerseygate?”) wasn’t as nefarious as the first. Tom Brady, 39, along with his jersey, made a special appearance at Fenway Park on April 3, according to Fox News. The New England Patriots quarterback and Super Bowl 51 MVP was part of the pregame ceremony of the Boston Red Sox’s opening day ceremony. Suddenly, when out of nowhere, a fiend ripped the jersey from Tom’s hands and made a run for it!
Actually, it wasn’t an international sports memorabilia thief who yanked the jersey. It was just Gronk. Yes, it was Rob Gronkowksi, 27, the Patriots’ tight end, who “intercepted” the jersey and bolted for the outfield. Tom ran after his teammate and managed to tackle Gronk before recovering the stolen goods. Aww. It was a case of “no harm, no foul” as Gronk and Tom were all smiles as they rolled around on the field. After all, Tom Brady would know better than anyone how “Gronk’s gotta gronk.”

Had it been anyone else, Tom might have not been so forgiving. The jersey, once estimated to be worth half a million dollars, was allegedly taken out of Tom’s locker room by Mauricio Ortega, a news director. The police reportedly recovered Tom’s jersey from Mauricio’s home in Mexico. Robert Kraft, 75, the owner of the Patriots, had the pleasure of giving the jersey back to Tom on April 3. “Look at the grass stains,” Robert said. “It took an international trip [to get here.]
Thankfully, Tom didn’t have to go halfway around the world to get his jersey back after this second robbery. He just had to run out to second base. As for Gronk, he better save his future shenanigans for the WWE ring. Gronk made his sports entertainment debut on April 3, appearing at WrestleMania 33 to help out his friend, Mojo Rawley, 30, win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Mojo said Gronk was “dying to get into the ring,” and it seems Gronk was able to live out his dream while getting a WrestleMania moment.
Do you think the Patriots will win back-to-back Super Bowls, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Gronk is going to have a great season?
