The iconic Goldie Hawn stars alongside Amy Schumer in ‘Snatched’, which is her first movie in over a decade. So, why did she stop acting for so long and what exactly made her decide to come back now?
Goldie Hawn, 71, is making a comeback. While she never really shied away from the flashing lights of Hollywood, she did take a bit of a hiatus – a 14-year long hiatus. After being honored at the Big Screen Achievement Awards during CinemaCon 2017 on Thursday, March 30 in Las Vegas, the actress finally explained her break.
“I was doing other things that fascinated me, to tell you the truth,” she told the press backstage during the ceremony. “I took a break from something I did for a long time. It was a real reboot, it was great.”
Goldie clearly has no regrets about taking some time off from being in front of the camera, but what prompted her to get back in the game? Well, it was her co-star, Amy Schumer, 35. “Amy came to me, brought this up to me,” Goldie shared. “I really started thinking about… am I done? Should I go back? Is there going to be something?” And there was: Snatched!
The hilarious mother-daughter comedy hits theaters on Mothers Day weekend, May 12. We seriously can not wait to see Goldie and Amy get into all sorts of crazy antics, and hopefully this is just the first of many more movies we’ll see Goldie starring in very soon!
