Finally! ‘American Assassin’ debuted it’s very first trailer during the Lionsgate presentation at CinemaCon 2017 and it was everything. No, seriously. Not only did the trailer really give us a feel for the film, it also showed us that it’s star, Dylan O’Brien, is the perfect leading man. Ready for some details? Here we go!
Dylan O’Brien, 25, might already be a star, but his next film, American Assassin, is going to change everything for him. HollywoodLife.com was lucky enough to see the first trailer for the film at CinemaCon 2017 on Thursday, March 30 in Las Vegas, Nevada and now we’re sharing ALL the details that you’re just dying to know.
Now sadly the trailer is not yet online or available to the public, but it reveals that Dylan’s character, Mitch, undergoes some serious emotional trauma. After he loses his girlfriend during a deadly terrorist attack, Mitch goes rogue in hopes he can somehow track down the men who killed her and take them out as an act of revenge. Instead he catches the attention of some very high profile people, and next thing you know he’s training to be some super cool undercover spy alongside Michael Keaton. Actually, I take that back – “super cool” is a serious understatement. It’s more like incredibly bad a-s.
Now I know that Dylan is a heartthrob, so I have some really exciting details about his look in the film. This is a Dylan you’ve never seen before. He’s tough, he’s been through something so traumatic, and he’s in total beast mode. When we first see him in the trailer he’s got long, shaggy hair, a little bit of a beard scruff and he could definitely use a shower. But as he undergoes his transformation into an assassin he becomes very muscular. Dylan really gets in on the action, too, and it’s clear we’re going to see him really going at it in the film.
So now to answer the question you’re all thinking: when does the trailer come out? Well, according to the official Twitter account it will be out VERY soon.
PSA: played an early cut of the teaser trailer for exhibitors (theater owners) at Cinemacon, hence the great reacts. (online in a few weeks)
