Congratulations are in order for Anne De Paula! The model, who turns 22 this week, was announced by Sports Illustrated as the winner of the Swimsuit Model Search competition on Wednesday, Mar. 28. She was the first model to be revealed for the 2018 swimsuit issue. The win automatically included her in the rookie section of the magazine. We’ve gathered up everything you need to know about the stunning model here!
1.She’s a native of Brazil.
Anne was born in Brazil and signed with her first modeling agency when she was just 14 years old. Her mother initially encouraged her to give modeling a try, but Anne always thought she’d end up working in the medical field like the rest of her family. She dreamed of being a gynecologist when she was younger.
2. Anne was shocked to learn she won the Swimsuit Model Search.
She thought she was coming into Sports Illustrated‘s studios for just a casual interview. They had her read through a few casual intros before she saw the exciting news on the teleprompter. Anne immediately started crying and could barely get the words out. “Hi, I’m Anne de Paula, and I’m the winner of the SI Swimsuit Model Search,” she said still clearly in shock. “It means a lot to me coming from Brazil, it was so hard to leave my country, and my parents know how hard it was to get here… It’s a dream come true,’ she said. ‘And it’s the best birthday ever!” She stunned in 2017 swimsuit issue in a painted on swimsuit that was super sexy.
3. She’s a self-professed tomboy.
Anne never shied away from a sexy swimsuit shoot, but she also has a passion for sports. She got into the Thai combat sport Muay Thai when she was young. “I was a teenager I got into Muay Thai…I absolutely love it. I do it like three times a week,” she told SI. Anne also had a huge passion for soccer when she was little. “I used to play soccer on the team of my city. I used to be a goalkeeper and that was my number one thing. I just loved soccer.”

4. Anne has a passion for travel.
Besides her glamorous swimsuit shots, Anne’s Instagram is absolutely covered in gorgeous photos from across the globe. She has posted amazing photos from London, Dublin, Paris, Rome, Rio De Janeiro, Milan, Los Angeles, Dubai and New York.
5. She’s a beach girl at heart.
Anne told Sports Illustrated that one of things she missed the most about Brazil was “the beach.” She admitted she now lives in Miami so she still gets her days in the sand when she’s not working. Her Instagram has tons of pictures of herself hanging out in the surf with her friends.
