When it comes to epic relationships that have stood the test of time, Bella and Edward Cullen from Twilight definitely come to mind…but, in the world of reality television where bottle service girls in Las Vegas are more ominous than werewolves and vampires, Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz aren’t far behind. The Vanderpump Rules lovebirds endured hardships of epic proportions that make the start of their relationship feel like a lifetime ago, even if one of them didn’t actually live through the last hundred years à la Edward. Their ups and downs led to their picturesque wedding on the season finale last night, where I noticed so many striking similarities between the Vanderpump wedding and Bella and Edward’s in Breaking Dawn — and I’m sure any Twihard out there would agree.
There is no denying the fact that the rustic ceremony in the woods, from the hanging flowers to the decor, didn’t evoke memories of Bella and Edward’s wedding.
Katie opted for a long-sleeved, form-fitting Zuhair Murad mermaid gown with lace detailing while Bella wore a white Carolina Herrera long-sleeved frock which also featured lace detailing. The similarities with their wedding day look don’t stop there, either. Katie also wore her hair back in a romantic updo and wore a floor-sweeping veil that trailed behind her as she walked down the aisle, (just like Bella!).
Okay, so unless Katie and Tom are total Twihards this is probably just a really amazing coincidence, but both couples tied the knot in August. #AnniversaryTwinsies
Not only did both couples pen their own vows for the special day where they reflected upon their relationship, but there wasn’t a dry eye at either ceremony once the couples declared their love for one another. (Imagine if Tom Sandoval was invited to Bella and Edward’s nuptials?)
In Breaking Dawn, we meet Kate, Irina and Tanya of the Denali Coven, who all bear a striking resemblance to one another with their fair skin and light hair. The vegetarian vampires are unique in their own special way — just like the Schwartz triplets! Tom’s brother’s also endured quite the journey to make it to their brother’s nuptials, (after all, they missed their first flight).
Both couples celebrated at an outdoor reception topped off with white cakes that featured cascading flowers. The plot thickens.
After the release of Breaking Dawn Pinterest practically exploded with rustic-inspired ceremonies and decor, and the trend is still insanely popular in the wedding industry, so I guess there is a chance Katie and Tom aren’t total Twihards, but what do you think of the similarities?
