Regina and the Evil Queen are going toe-to-toe for one epic showdown. Will Regina be able to protect everyone she loves? Plus, is Hook finally going to come clean to Emma about his game-changing secret?
Long ago back in the Enchanted Forest, the Evil Queen searches high and low for Snow White. Her father begs her to show mercy, but the Evil Queen wants that heart. She attempts to convince the village people that she loves them and Snow White does not. Tinkerbell shows up to cut the Evil Queen’s speech short. Tink still feels guilty for her part in driving the Evil Queen to evil. After all, this all started with her when she showed Regina what her future was with the pixie dust. Despite everything, Tinkerbell still thinks the Evil Queen is meant to be with Robin. She just needs to take a chance on love.
Back at the castle, the Evil Queen’s father stops fighting her on this quest to get Snow White’s heart and agrees to help her. He doesn’t think she’ll be satisfied, though. He brings out a spell book of Cora’s that will lead them to Snow White. He takes her on a journey, but it wasn’t led by Cora’s spell book. Tinkerbell led him to a portal that will take them to Cupid’s Arrow. This will show the Evil Queen who she loves most. But the Evil Queen alters the arrow with dark magic to lead her to who she hates the most.
She fires off the arrow and it leads the Evil Queen to the castle. She finds herself staring at herself in the mirror. The Evil Queen doesn’t hate Snow White the most, she hates herself.
Forgiving Sins & A Deadly Team-Up
In present day Storybrooke, the Evil Queen and Robin have teamed up. This should be fun. She agrees to send him back to the realm she created if she does something for him. She has him dig up the magic shears and is determined to finally separate herself from Regina so she can destroy her.
Everyone is soooo happy about Emma’s engagement. Regina and Zelena ruin the good mood with news about the Evil Queen’s return. Meanwhile, Hook says goodbye to Captain Nemo. Since proposing to Emma, his guilt over killing David’s father has only intensified. He thinks that once others find out, there might not be any coming back from that. Captain Nemo urges Hook to seek forgiveness for his sins and to tell Emma.
The Evil Queen snatches Henry’s pen and pays him a little visit. She comes to warn him about what’s coming and asks him to give a message to Regina. Despite what she’s planning to do, the Evil Queen tells Henry that she loves him. The piece of paper is page 23 from the Storybrooke, a.k.a. the photo of Regina and Robin.
The Evil Queen has Robin all tied up. Like her father, Robin doesn’t think killing Regina will solve the Evil Queen’s problems. It will only make Regina a martyr.
Emma finally finds out about Hook’s secret while he’s about to burn his memories. She is shocked that he wasn’t open with her from the very beginning. She thought they didn’t keep secrets from each other. Hook cries that he was scared of losing everything that mattered to him. Emma tries to tell him that David and Snow will forgive him for what he did in the past. Hook was able to come to turns with ruining his own family, but now that he’s ruined Emma’s, he doesn’t know if he can deal with that.
She wishes he had been honest with her and not felt like he couldn’t tell her. She gives back the ring! Emma wants to marry the man who isn’t afraid of keeping secrets and doesn’t hide his demons from everyone. This sends Hook on a downward spiral. He goes and asks Captain Nemo if he can join him on his next journey! Don’t leave when the going gets tough, Hook!
Regina and the Evil Queen come face-to-face. The Evil Queen separates them and they begin to fight. It gets nasty. Regina rips out the Evil Queen’s heart! She starts to crush it to dust, but she spots her reflection in the broken shards of glass. She decides to choose love over hate. Regina rips out her own heart and melds her heart with the Evil Queen’s. Regina sacrifices some of the love in her heart so EQ can have some. In return, Regina takes away some of the Evil Queen’s darkness.
A Not-So Well Deserved Happy Ending
The Evil Queen reveals to Regina that Robin already went to the realm that she created. Regina’s bummed but it’s for the best. The Evil Queen asks her if she regrets not walking through the doors of the tavern all that time again. Regina truly has no regrets. She wouldn’t be where she is today if she had.
Regina decides she wants to send the Evil Queen somewhere where she can start over. Snow and Zelena aren’t so sure Regina should trust EQ so easily, but EQ promises she’s changed.
With Henry’s help, the Evil Queen is taken to the tavern, the same one she didn’t go into all those years ago. She sees Robin and walks in. This is the start of her happy ending!
Snow finds Hook on the docks and congratulates him on the engagement. She’s so happy Emma has chosen Hook to spend the rest of her life with. Hook decides to go back to Emma and face their struggles head on, but goes on the Nautilus to say goodbye first. Unfortunately, Gideon ruins everything by submerging the ship without Captain Nemo’s permission. Apparently, Hook can’t be in Storybrooke for whatever Gideon has planned. Now Emma thinks Hook has abandoned her!
