Malia Obama added another playbill to her collection when she checked out the hit Broadway show ‘Significant Other’ on March 25! While Malia was excited to see the show, the cast was even more thrilled to meet the ‘charming’ former first daughter. See what we mean here!
Malia Obama, 18, is proving that she’s a total theater kid by seeing yet another Broadway show. The former first daughter caught a performance of “Significant Other” on March 25, and managed to get the awesome chance to meet the entire cast backstage after the show! Obviously, they were very happy to see her as well, and posed for a cute group photo together.
John Behlmann, who plays Will, Conrad, and Tony in “Significant Other”, posted the group shot to his Instagram account later that day, and gushed about Malia in the fun caption: “🎶Malia. Obama. Come on Pretty Mama. 🎶Key Largo, Montego, Baby why don’t we go Malia Obama at @significantbway! She was all the smart charming things you expect in an #Obama #significantbroadway #maliaobama”
What a glowing review! Clearly, Malia is something special, and people know it as soon as they meet her. She has a taste for the arts, as she’s currently interning at the Weinstein Company in New York City, and worked on Girls for a brief time. Lena Dunham, 30, called her incredibly “smart” and “enthusiastic.” Her parents must be proud!
She’s taken in several Broadway shows since moving to Manhattan, as well. In fact, she just saw the awesome play “The Price” when dad Barack Obama, 53, was in town. Even giant stars like Mark Ruffalo and Danny DeVito were excited to meet her! Prior to that experience, she took in a performance of the classic musical Sweeney Todd.
HollywoodLifers, which play do you think Malia’s going to see next? Tell us in the comments!
