Will Tiana and Hakeem finally get back on track in the second half of season 3? HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY with stars Serayah and Bryshere Gray about what’s coming up for Takeem. Plus, will Tiana’s bad blood with Nessa escalate? Here’s the scoop!
What’s next for Tiana?
Serayah: Tiana is still doing music, so she’s focused on her career. That’s like the biggest thing for her, even more than Hakeem. She is just trying to figure this thing out with Hakeem, and he has a lot going on right now. He has a kid now. He has a kid now! That’s big for her because she’s so goal-driven and that was her thing. At first, she started off with Hakeem being like, “Oh, he’s a good look.” But I think she really started to like him hence why she keeps getting back with him for some reason. There’s a little soft spot there for him. She’s definitely trying to figure how she’s going to exist in his world now.
Are they going to explore their feelings a little more?
Serayah: I think it’s going to be foreshadowed and I definitely think we’re going to see moments of that, especially with performance moments and things like that. When they’re teaming up and doing performances and things like that.
On the Tiana/Nessa’s feud:
Serayah: It was definitely an eye-opener for Tiana because she can usually bite back with her words and people fall in line. But to have someone burn her dress, she was like, “Oh, shit.” I think she’s definitely met her match in that way and is going to get into some feuds with her for sure.
Bryshere told HollywoodLife.com that Hakeem wants Tiana “for life.” When asked if he thinks they’re endgame, he said, “It’s up to her, really. If she wants him. If she wants to deal with what he put her through…” We also got the actor/rapper to tease what else is coming up for Hakeem.
What’s coming up for Hakeem?
Bryshere Gray: Mentally, he’s trying to grow up. He’s got a daughter. She’s making him grow up, little Bella. He loses her, and he’s risking everything to get her back.
How’s he going to be juggling being a father and a musician?
Bryshere Gray: It’s challenging but he gets it done, though.
Empire airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
