Celine Dion, 48, rocked one of the coolest sartorial looks of all time when 20 years after Titanic (and her “My Heart Will Go On” ballad) hit theaters, she wore a movie-themed sweatshirt. Photographed in the look back in the summer during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week, Celine recently chatted with The Hollywood Reporter about her show-stealing look.
Celine’s stylist Law Roach brought the Vetements sweatshirt to her attention, which features the sinking ship alongside main characters Jack Dawson and Rose DeWitt Bukater (famously played by Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet). To make the sweatshirt a street style star, Law put Celine in skinny jeans and gold Gucci sandals.
“I thought it would be so cool, but I was afraid she’d think it was corny,” Law told The Hollywood Reporter about the sweatshirt. “When I actually pulled it out and showed it to her, Celine snatched it up and threw it on. She was like, ‘Man, this is cool.'”
But Celine wasn’t the only one who thought the Vetements design was cool. Law, who is also the co-creator of Zendaya‘s Daya by Zendaya line, actually had to pull the sweatshirt from the designer’s archives because it was sold out — and Celine actually had to give it right back! “He took it away from me,” Celine revealed, adding, “Please send it back!”
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Celine’s Titanic-themed look? Do you think Vetements should send Celine her own hoodie to keep?
