The defending MLS Cup champions face a team that may challenge them for the cup, as the Seattle Sounders meet the New York Red Bulls on March 19 at 7:00 PM ET. This is going to be good so don’t miss a single second.
Two games into the season and the MLS Cup champions have yet to score a win. So, expect the Seattle Sounders to pull out all the stops when they host the New York Red Bulls at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington. It’s quite possible that the 2017 MLS Cup champion will walk away from this match with a win, so don’t miss it when the game kicks off at 7:00 PM ET.
Seattle hasn’t started this season on a high note. They fell 2-1 to the Houston Dynamo in the season opener. Seattle finally got a point when Will Bruin netted in a late-game equalizer against the Montreal Impact. The 2-2 draw was better than a loss, but not by much. Seattle was notoriously horrible on the road during last season. Now that they’re home-sweet-home at CenturyLink field, maybe the Sounders can raise the W?
As for the Red Bulls, it’s almost the complete opposite. They downed the upstart Atlanta United in the season opener before crushing the Colorado Rapids in a 1-0 match up north. The Red Bulls look to keep their record perfect when they travel west. If they beat the Sounders at home, it may make them the early, early favorites to claim the Cup.
“We’re going to go out there and battle them and show them that you guys have what we want,” Derrick Etienne Jr. of the Red Bulls said ahead of this game, per CBS Sports. “We believe that we should be lifting up that trophy at the end of the year. One step in the right direction would be taking them down and spoiling their party.”
Who do you want to win this game, HollywoodLifers? Do you think Seattle will win the MLS cup again? Or do you think the Red Bulls will charge their way into a championship?
