This is SO cool. In honor of Christina Grimmie’s 23rd birthday, her team released a brand new music video featuring the late singer as an animated super hero — something she would have absolutely loved.
It’s been almost a year since Christina Grimmie was killed on June 10, 2016 in front of her fans in Orlando, Florida. Now, on what would have been her 23rd birthday, her family is honoring her by turning her into one of the many things she loved: a super hero.
In the official music video for “Invisible”, an animated version of Christina flies through the night on a hover board. With the snap of her fingers she starts to glow, as does her furry side kick, until they encounter some villains. To defeat them, the animated Christina throws her hands up in the air and a glowing blue light shines out of them forcing all of the bad away. It’s pretty incredible to watch!
As many fans know, Christina was a huge lover of video games. Her brother, Marcus, wrote this special message for her after the video was posted, “Happy birthday sis. I beat Zelda for you at 12 o’clock this morning. I know you would be proud and that you would have beaten it before me. Miss you so much. Never felt so good beating Ganon.” So sweet.
This is Christina’s first birthday since she was shot dead by Kevin Loibl, 27, at a meet and greet after performing for fans. Her family has kept her memory and music alive be releasing new songs and videos for fans, including “Invisible” which was released in February 2017. Our thoughts remain with Christina’s beloved family, friends and fans.
