Football fans learned the shocking news on March 9 that Tony Romo will be leaving the Dallas Cowboys this season, whether he is cut or traded. Now, a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the Houston Texans are desperate to add him to their roster!
“The Houston Texans are all in to get Tony Romo,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY after learning that the Dallas Cowboys would be letting him go on March 9. “They’re looking to making him their next QB and hopefully they will sign him up before the NFL Draft.”
The team is thirsty for a new quarterback after making a shocking trade of their own Brock Osweiler on March 9. They don’t seem to mind begging Tony a little bit to come be their QB savior. “They are putting the full court press on him and will not sleep till they get him on board,” the source explained. “It would be a major disappointment if they don’t pull off signing him.”
It would probably be a disappointment for Tony too, if he were traded somewhere else (as the Denver Broncos also seems to be very interested.) The move would be very easy on Tony, who could stay in Texas and only have to be about two hours from his family, rather than moving around the country.
The move might also give Tony a real chance at winning a Super Bowl. The Texans were really good in 2016/2017, with a top of the line defense. Unfortunately, Brock just couldn’t get the job done when it mattered. With support like that, Tony could have a really good shot at leading the team to victory!
However, it’s still a bitter pill to swallow. Tony has been a part of the Cowboys for his entire football career – since 2003. He’s made it clear that he isn’t ready to leave football behind, but unfortunately his legacy team is ready to move on without him. He expressed his gratitude and love to the fans in a touching video after learning it was time for him to go.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Tony should go to the Texans? Let us know!
