We already saw Nick’s overnight date with Raven, but what about Vanessa and Rachel? On this week’s episode of ‘The Bachelor,’ Nick finished his fantasy suites — and chose his final two.
This week kicked off with the most ridiculous opening of The Bachelor I’ve ever seen — Raven saying she was “satisfied,” that Nick was “good at what he does,” followed by her literally skipping through Finland and making snow angels.
Yes, really. Anyway, that went right into Rachel and Nick’s date where they went cross-country skiing and fed reindeer (again, seriously?!). Granted, Rachel was so nervous to tell him she loved him, but honestly their date could not have been more frozen. I mean, at one point he told her he was different from other men, saying “I might be white, but I’m still a minority.”
After a sleigh ride, she finally did tell him she was falling in love — after he basically pried it out of her. Then they spent a perfect night together, and he made her breakfast in the morning while she wore a penguin onesie. A girl of my own heart!
Last but not least, it was Vanessa‘s one-on-one, which started off with a jump into a tub of ice; when you’re in freezing Finland, that’s not romantic, Nick! However they had to do something “fun,” since they had some serious things to talk about. Her hometown date made them both realize that they weren’t really on the same page with important things — like where they’d live. He admitted that it would be hard for him to imagine living Canada, but that he would do anything for the woman he loves.
I have to say that their date really seemed more honest than all of the others — they talked about things that will be real issues if he does choose her. I mean, they don’t film Dancing with the Stars in Montreal. Afterward, she did tell him she loved him, and they stayed together.
Then it was time to say goodbye to one of the women and take two to the finale. Of course he was absolutely wrecked and was crying at the rose ceremony, per usual. Raven got the first rose, and Vanessa got the second. Rachel was obviously shocked and crying, as was Nick — she felt that she was going home because she held back for a long time, but clearly that wasn’t it. Vanessa hadn’t said “I love you” until the last minute, either. He reassured her that he cared deeply, and to be honest, she handled it with so much class. (Psst: I can not wait for her to be the bachelorette!)
HollywoodLifers, are you happy with Nick’s final two? Who are you rooting for?
