We’re so upset to learn that legendary actor Bill Paxton has died, and especially so young. We’ll always remember the man who brought us such joy in hits like ‘Big Love’ and Aliens’. See his incredible life in photos right here.
Bill Paxton was just 61 years old when he passed away on February 25. Bill was suffering from complications after an unspecified surgery, and died very suddenly. It’s utterly heartbreaking to hear that such a true talent was taken away so quickly.
As is grieving family put it in a statement, Bill had an “illustrious career spanning four decades as a beloved and prolific actor and flimmaker.” Think of one of your most beloved films, and Bill was probably on screen making it better. He was the brave storm chaser caught in deep peril with Helen Hunt in Twister, the blue-haired punk in Terminator who dared stare down Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a soldier that unfortunately thought he’d be able to take on one of the Xenomorphs in Aliens (and had one of the most badass, gruesome action movie scenes of all time).
Maybe you’ll remember him better as Brock Lovett from Titanic, the treasure hunter who sits and listens to elderly Rose tell the tale of her time onboard the doomed ship when he tried to track down her Heart of the Ocean necklace! Of course, we was also the father/husband in the beloved HBO polygamy series Big Love!
Outside of film and TV, Bill was a dedicated father and husband to kids James and Lydia Paxton, and his wife Louise Newbury, to whom he was married to for 30 years. James was actually set to star with Bill on his new TV show, Training Day. We can’t imagine the pain they’re all going through. He had a passion for music, as well as video games, and lent his voice to Call of Duty.
HollywoodLifers, our thoughts are with Bill’s loved ones during this difficult time.
