We’re still reeling from that smackdown between Cardi B and Asia on the ‘Love & Hip Hop’ reunion, and one question still lingers: why didn’t Swift defend his ex? The producer EXCLUSIVELY explains his side of the story to HollywoodLife.com, here!
Things got freakin’ crazy on the Love & Hip Hop reunion special, especially when Swift’s friend and client Cardi B whipped a shoe at his ex-girlfriend! Fans were shocked that Swift let it happen and didn’t step in to protect Asia, but he explained to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY why we shouldn’t expect him to.
“Everybody was mad about me for not defending her during the reunion show but what people don’t understand is we broke up months ago and we are seeing different people now,” Swift said, defending himself. “It’s not like you are my ex so I will forever protect you. No, you got your self into this and now we are both seeing other people.”
Despite that, Swift did feel bad that he let Cardi hit her. At least, he DID feel bad. “Cardi is still mad at Asia but after the reunion show was taped I I reached out to Asia and apologized,” he explained. “I didn’t mean for her to go through this. Even with way things went down I told her ‘I want you to win and don’t wish nothing bad’. I thought things were cool but after that she went on Instagram and was writing about what a dog I am. People are jumping all over me and assuming all these things and she’s playing the victim.” Welp, there goes Swift’s sympathy! Check out the producer’s awesome new mixtape Demand, right here!
HollywoodLifers, do you think that Swift should have protected Asia, or was he right to let her fend for herself since they aren’t dating anymore? Let us know!
