Jackie Evancho is back on the ‘America’s Got Talent’ stage! The season five runner up, now 16, joined the show’s special ‘Holiday Spectacular’ to perform ‘Someday At Christmas,’ and it was incredible, as per usual.
The youngest ever platinum recording artist returned to the stage that made her famous for a seriously stunning performance. In an adorable white snowflake-like dress, she showed off that incredible voice, singing “Someday At Christmas,” and it was topped off with ballerinas in the background. There was even fake snowflakes falling around them; it was so gorgeous, and the judges all stood at the end of it, in absolute awe of how amazing she sounded.
“I remember seeing this little baby girl come out on the stage and blow us away with the most angelic voice and talent beyond your years,” Howie Mandel, who was a judge back when she was on the show, said remembering when he first saw her on season five. “I was right! There’s a beautiful young lady that was in that little girl, and she’s here tonight with us.” Of course, Simon Cowell also complimented her performance, calling it “stunning.”
Most recently, Jackie has been in the spotlight for her most recent gig — signing on to sing with Andrea Bocelli at Donald Trump‘s inauguration on Jan. 20.
“I have recently been asked by the president-elect to perform the national anthem for the swearing in ceremony at the inauguration,” Jackie revealed on the Today show on Dec. 14. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome! I felt really honored. To be able to sing for the office, it’s a great honor for me.”
She also sang “O Holy Night” for the Obamas in 2010, so she thinks of this as just another huge honor. “That was awesome. I got to meet [President Obama], he was really nice… I [feel] really honored to have the chance to perform for the president again. I kind of live in the moment! It doesn’t register until years in the future.”
Jackie’s mom later revealed that Andrea would be joining her, and that she actually has sung for Trump before — he was in the audience at a charity event that she performed at when she was only 11. Well, talk about coming full circle.
