It’s been 20 years since Hanson’s ‘Snowed In’ hit the shelves (and arguably became one of the best holiday albums ever). So now is the perfect time for them to come out with a new one! That’s right, on Dec. 15, they brothers began dropping songs — and videos of them playing them — from ‘Wintery Mix.’
First thing’s first: Hanson is back and still better than ever. The band took to YouTube to post a never-before-seen “making of” video of their song, “Baby Please Come Home,” showing Taylor Hanson working on the lead. Then, to follow it up they posted a new video of all the guys today — Taylor, 33, Isaac, 36, and Zac, 31 — performing the song in Christmas sweaters, today.
They did something similiar for their song “Merry Christmas Baby,” first posting a video of Zac, looking like he’s about 10, playing the drums for the song before Snowed In came out. They then performed it today.
The guys also will be covering “Winter Wonderland” (watch them perform that here), and “Blue Christmas” on Wintery Mix, but it may be changed to “Ooh Christmas.” This time around. See why, here:
As for a new song, all three of them actually perform together in this video, will be called “Finally It’s Christmas.” With Taylor on the piano, Zac on the drums and Isaac playing guitar, all is back to normal for this one. And it’s pretty much a jam.
And another, “It Ain’t No Silent Night” was not yet posted to the band’s YouTube, but just by listening to this session, shared on their website, we can already tell we’re obsessed.
The new holiday album will debut in 2017.
