This is SO touching! Jacquie Lee’s new song, ‘Somebody’s Angel’ is an emotional tribute to her late BFF, and former ‘The Voice’ contestant, Christina Grimmie. The two singers grew really close on the show, so try not to break out in tears while listening to the track.
What better way to honor Christina Grimmie than writing a song about her? Christina was a contestant on The Voice where she and fellow competitor, Jacquie Lee, grew really close! To keep the memory of Christina alive, Jacquie has come out with a new song that’s a tribute to her BFF! “Somebody’s Angel” was released on Dec. 15, and it’s already making fans around the world cry. The music video mixes the sweetness of Jacquie’s personal art work, with powerful news headlines, most of which relate to gun violence.
Nobody can forget the heartbreaking shootings that occurred in Dallas, Brussels, and Paris (just to name a few from 2016). Sadly, Christina’s devastating death also relates to that sort of violence, as she was shot while signing autographs after a concert. 27-year old Kevin James Loibl was the one who fired the gun, and unfortunately wasn’t stopped in time by Christina’s brother, who tackled him to the ground. Kevin ended up shooting himself immediately after, while Christina was quickly transported to Orlando Regional Medical Hospital where she was pronounced dead in June.
Since her time on The Voice, Christina has come out with epic hits like “Snow White,” “The Ballad Of Jessica Blue,” and “Anybody’s You.” She left such a powerful impact on the world of entertainment, prompting other singers like Christina Aguilera, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, and Nick Jonas to speak out on her passing. All these performers took moments out of their concerts to remember Christina and all the other victims around the world who were affected by mass shootings. Are you crying yet?
