Only six contestants are left on Season 33 of ‘Survivor,’ and by the end of the Dec. 14, episode, we’ll finally know the winner. Over the last few episodes, Adam Klein has certainly established himself as a frontrunner, and you can get to know him with five fast facts right here!
1. He’s playing ‘Survivor’ for his dying mother
Adam Klein, 25, was reluctant to even go on Survivor when he was selected as a cast member because it would mean he’d have to leave behind his mother, who’d recently been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer, despite never smoking a day in her life. Sadly, Adam’s mom passed away just two days after filming, one hour after he returned home from Fiji. Obviously, regardless of the outcome of his game, we know he made her proud!
2. He’s really, really, really smart
If you couldn’t tell that Adam has brains from his epic strategizing in the game of Survivor, here’s the facts: He graduated at the top of his class from the acclaimed Stanford University and was voted “biggest nerd” in high school!
3. He works for a non-profit
Adam does strategic planning at a non-profit homeless shelter. “I’m not necessarily getting paid as much as I would if I went into consulting or finance or something like that,” he explained. “But every day I feel like I’ve done something really meaningful.”
4. He’s a longtime fan of the show
The 25-year-old describes himself as a “super-duper fan” who has dreamed of winning Survivor since he was just nine years old. He even used to play the game online when he was in middle school — aww!
5. He’s very charitable
Adam helped raise over $100,000 for cancer research as a chair for Relay for Life, and grew his group of participants frin 10 to over 500. Not too shabby!
