At least he didn’t leave empty handed! Kanye West just revealed the gift he was given by President-Elect Donald Trump during their one-on-one in NYC. Click inside to see what he got!
Kanye West, 39, is now totally not-so-humble bragging about his private meeting with Donald Trump, 70, on Tuesday, December 13. The “Famous” rapper shared a picture on his Twitter account just 24 hours after the meeting, and it shows off the personalized gift that the President-Elect gave him before they posed together for some photos.
“To Kanye: You are a great friend. Donald Trump,” reads an autographed cover of Donald’s TIME Person of the Year cover. Donald signed the magazine in silver, and Kanye posted a picture of the cover with no caption on his Twitter account to show it off. If you didn’t notice in the above photo, “great” is underlined by Trump. Okay guys, we get it!
After their meeting, Donald and Kanye faced the press inside the lobby of Trump Tower in New York City. While Donald told the press that he and Kanye had been friends for a “long time,” Kanye told them he just wanted to get his picture taken. He also refused to say whether or not he would run against Donald in 2020, but later tweeted “#2024” — leading fans to believe he will run that year instead. Hmm.
There was a lot of speculation about why Kanye and Donald would have such a meeting, Kanye later explained on Twitter that he met with the President-elect to discuss “multicultural issues.” “These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago,” he added, also telling his followers that he felt it was “important” to have a “direct line” to the future President. Unfortunately, that doesn’t explain why he didn’t vote in the 2016 election.
