Lukas Graham is killing it! The Danish band dominated the stage at the 2016 BBC Music Awards on December 12 with a performance of their hot hit ‘7 Years’, and looked cooler than ever. Click through to watch their performance!
They once were seven years old, and now they’re rock stars! If you don’t know who Lukas Graham is, you’re going to be their biggest fan now! Lukas Graham, contrary to popular belief, is not one dude, but a powerhouse band from Denmark who rocked the stage at the 2016 BBC Music Awards. Their insane performance of their hit, “7 Years”, was inarguably one of the best moments of the incredible night.
Performing in front of photos of their seven-year-old selves, frontman Lukas Forchhammer belted out their biggest hit wearing a simple outfit of a beanie, sweater and jeans. Effortlessly cool — and veryHarry Styles. We were so enraptured by this passionate performance!
Lukas Graham, comprised of Lukas, bassist Magnus Larsson, keyboardist Morten Ristorp and drummer Mark Falgren, has been on the scene in Denmark since 2011. But they only gained international recognition somewhat recently, when “7 Years” dropped in late 2015. It’s no wonder why; this song is amazing. The band has two top hit albums in Denmark, and dropped their self-titled album, Lukas Graham, in April 2016 to global success.
The album reached No. 3 on the Billboard 200, No. 2 in the UK and New Zealand and No. 1 in Australia and Canada. Not too shabby! The boys not only performed at the BBC Music Awards, but were nominated for Song of the Year, for “7 Years”. Nice!
We’ll definitely be seeing a lot more of them, too. They’re nominated for a whopping three 2017 Grammy Awards, getting nods for Song of the Year, Record of the Year and Pop Duo/Group Performance. Hopefully, they’re in the performance lineup at the Grammys, too!
