This is so tragic. Just three weeks before his mom tragically lost her battle with leukemia, Louis Tomlinson shared a sweet Instagram post with the 43-year-old, and he wrote the most touching message. See it here.
Johannah Deakin’s family didn’t publicize her leukemia diagnosis, but Louis Tomlinson, 24, subtly let on that something was up in his most recent Instagram post on Nov. 18. With his mom thousands of miles away, the singer was clearly wishing he could be by her side as she battled the horrific disease, as he posted a throwback photo of the two of them taken back in February.
“My mother looking gorgeous before the Brits earlier this year,” Louis captioned the pic. “I love you and miss you so much!” At the time, we thought the throwback was just a case of nostalgia and longing for home, but knowing what we know now, it’s clearly so much more than that, as his mom passed away just weeks later. Meanwhile, Johannah’s most recent social media post was a photo of Louis, with the sweet caption, “My perfect boy,” and a heart emoji. Awww.
Johannah’s husband, Dan Deakin, confirmed on Dec. 9 that she tragically died two days earlier. He revealed that she’d been hospitalized since May with an “aggressive” form of leukemia. The 43-year-old leaves behind her husband of just two and a half years, along with seven kids: Besides Louis, she’s also mother to Lottie, 18, Felicite, 16, twins Phoebe and Daisy, 12, and twins Ernest and Doris, 2. Of course, she’s a grandmother to Louis’ adorable son, Freddie, 11 mos., as well.
Louis has not publicly commented on this heartbreaking news yet, and it’s unclear if he was in England with his family when this tragedy occurred. Our hearts are completely broken for Louis, Dan and the rest of the kids.
