Thanks to Gigi Hadid, 21, her boyfriend Zayn Malik, 23, and best friend Taylor Swift, 26, now have a hit song together! “It was Gigi who originally suggested they work on a song together. This was back in September, when Taylor was spending time with Gigi and Zayn after her breakup with Tom. Gigi brought up the idea when the three of them went out to dinner in NYC,” an insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Smart thinking!
Who would have ever imagined that these two would hook up on a song together?! “When the opportunity came for Taylor to team up with someone on ‘I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,’ she immediately thought of Zayn,” our source says. “It’s a sexy song, the perfect song for them to collaborate on.” We couldn’t agree more!
We were all surprised when Taylor and Zayn released their song on Dec. 8 — Gigi included! She made sure to support their new music on Twitter by posting artwork from their single, along with a huge smiley face, praising emoji.
The mastermind behind the song, Jack Antonoff, 32, who also happens to be Lena Dunham‘s boyfriend revealed that he wrote “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” with Taylor and Sam Dew. The singer/songwriter went on to tweet, “recorded taylor at my house. zayn sent parts from LA – we did it in a week basically. i’ve never had something come out that quick.” Pretty impressive!
