Carrie Fisher caused a frenzy when she revealed that she had an affair with Harrison Ford while filming ‘Star Wars’. So does she regret revealing the secret in her new memoir? Get the scoop here!
Some things are better left in the past! Carrie Fisher, 60, appeared on the latest episode of BBC’s Graham Norton Show on Dec. 9, to talk about the revelations in her new book, The Princess Diarist. She specifically discussed the explosive chapter in which she revealed to her readers that she had engaged in a 3-month affair with her Star Wars costar Harrison Ford, 74, in 1976!
“It has caused a sensation. You would think that people’d go, ‘oh, two young actors, yeah, of course they had an affair.’ But this has caused ructions,” show host Graham Norton said of the drama surrounding Carrie’s confession. Although Carrie previously revealed she went a little too far with the details of their love affair, she had “no idea it would cause a sensation. “Four hundred thousand news sites picked up on it and it became a little embarrassing. They made a lot of things up, which I’ve now had to talk about – I never said he was bad in bed,” she added.
And if the big secret reveal was embarrassing for her, we can’t imagine how Harrison feels about it! While the actress spilled that she’s seen him “more off than on” since then, she said it probably got under Harrison’s skin a bit. “He is incredibly private and I am sure the whole thing bugged him, but he comes out of it well. I liked him,” she said. Graham also pointed out that he’ll probably feel that way for a long time, as he will be asked about the matter for “the rest of his life.” “I do feel guilty,” Carrie admitted. “I never thought about it before, but I guess he will be asked about the affair for the rest of his life!”
Carrie and Harrison starred in the 1977 Star Wars epic as Princess Leia and Han Solo. Harrison was reportedly married to his first wife Melissa Mathison at the time. In The Princes Diarist, the actress described the affair as a “long one-night stand,” mentioning that she felt relieved when it was over because she didn’t approve of herself at the time. Harrison is probably going to stay silent on this subject, but Mark Hamill, 65, who plays Luke Skywalker in the franchise, said he had absolutely no clue an affair was going on off set!
