Though Real has already secured a spot in the Knockout Round, coach Zinedine Zidane, 45, is not taking this match with the German team as a walk in the part. “It’s a final,” he said ahead of the match, per Goal.com. “It’s the last group outing and we’re playing at home in front of our supporters, so hopefully we’ll put in a good performance. We’re fully focused on the game. We’re going to set out to try to finish top of the group.”
The team needs to adapt now that their BBC is missing a B. Gareth Bale, 27, has been sidelined for three months with an ankle injury, leaving Cristiano and Karim Benzema, 28, missing a third of their trio. Alvaro Morata, 24, might step up to replace the injured Gareth, according to Bleacher Report, as he (along with Fabio Coentrao, 28, and Danilo, 28) trained ahead of this game.
Dortmund might have caught a break with Gareth’s injured ankle, but Der BVB needs to work out their kinks. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, 27, threatened to quit the team. “I don’t know if I will stay,” he said ahead of the match. “I just think about playing good football right now.” Well, manager Thomas Tuchel, 43, has provided Pierre-Emerick with a chance, as he’ll go up against the reported 2016 Ballon d’Or winner (aka Ronaldo.) It doesn’t get any better than that!
