Billy Gilman is officially a finalist on Season 11 of ‘The Voice,’ and on the Dec. 12 episode, he’ll get one last chance to perform for America’s votes. So, what can he possibly sing to keep impressing the viewers like he’s done all season long?! HollywoodLife.com caught up with the singer to find out his plans!
Even before he knew he’d be singing in the finale of The Voice, Billy Gilman, 28, and his coach, Adam Levine, were already gearing up for a possible appearance in the finale!
“You know, what Adam wanted me to sing was “Time After Time,” [by Cyndi Lauper],” Billy told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY after the Dec. 5 episode. “And I was like, ‘ME!?’ But he was like, ‘Dude, I’m telling you!’ So, you never know…” Umm, how EPIC would that be?!
Of course, at the time of the interview, there were still eight contestants left, and it wasn’t confirmed that Billy would be making it to the Finals. However, he was voted through on Dec. 6, alongside Josh Gallagher, Sundance Head and We McDonald, so now he’ll really have to get serious about what he wants to do when the finale rolls around on Dec. 12.
Let’s be real, though: Billy has been killing his performances all season — he’s already nailed renditions of “Anyway” by Martina McBride and “I Surrender” by Celine Dion, among others — so if there’s anyone who can take on a classic like “Time After Time,” it’s him. Adam has continuously put his faith in Billy to sing powerful AND meaningful songs throughout the season, and his contestant has always delivered, so we can certainly expect something big next week either way — and we cannot wait!
HollywoodLifers, do you think “Time After Time” is a good song for Billy to sing on the finale?
