As one of eight remaining contestants and a season-long fan favorite, Sundance Head definitely has a chance of being named the winner of ‘The Voice.’ HollywoodLife.com caught up with Blake Shelton’s artist after the Dec. 5 episode and got the EXCLUSIVE scoop on why, at 37, he finally feels ready to get his music career up and running.
Sundance Head, 37, has been working toward a career in country music for years — he even competed on American Idol back in Season 6 and made it to the Top 24! Things obviously didn’t work out then, but now, he has another chance on The Voice, and after his Top 8 Semifinals performance on Dec. 5, it looks like he has a GOOD shot at making the finals. So, why is the timing finally right so many years later?
“I wasn’t ready ten years ago. I tried and I didn’t know who I was as a human being, much less an artist,” Sundance tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Really having kids changed everything for me and put a lot of things into perspective. I just can’t be thankful enough of my children. They saved my live, basically, and they gave me a rejuvenated attitude towards everything! Before, with music, I was doing things out of a selfish kind of thought process because I wanted everything for me. But I noticed lately when I have put a lot of faith in the Lord and have tried to be more of a family man and raise my children right and do it for them, that everything has changed for the positive.”
Sundance will find out if he makes the finals during the Dec. 6 results show, and after landing the No. 2 spot on iTunes this week, it’s a pretty good bet that he’ll be one of the four moving on. “I just feel really blessed and really fortunate to have this opportunity,” he says. “To be able to go onto a show like this and sing these wonderful songs that have great messages of love and respect in hope in this time that we are going through, it really means a lot.”
HollywoodLifers, do you think Sundance has a chance to win the show? Who’s your favorite on this season of the show?
