This is just crazy! Sofia Vergara is being sued by her own embryos for not allowing them to be born and gain a huge inheritance. Keep reading for how her ex Nick Loeb is continuing to battle on behalf of the fertilized eggs that are now named ‘Emma’ and ‘Isabella.’
Oh man! Just when we thought Nick Loeb‘s battle for the fertilized embryos he has with ex Sofia Vergara, 44, couldn’t get more explosive, a lawsuit has been filed on behalf of the eggs, which are now suing the Modern Family star. In court papers filed in Louisiana and obtained by the New York Post, the female embryos are listed as the plaintiffs and are already named “Emma’’ and “Isabella.” While Nick is behind the crazy case, the embryos have a “trustee” who is listed as James Carbonnet, even though it doesn’t indicate who that is in relation to either Nick or Sofia.
The shocking lawsuit claims that Emma and Isabella have a trust fund set up for them in Louisiana and that by not being born, they’re being deprived of the inheritance that Nick has set up for them. It would provide for their health care and education among other things. It’s insane to think that Sofia could be forced to become a parent with Nick when they’re not only no longer a couple, she moved on and married Joe Mangianello, 39. The suit was filed in Louisiana because it’s a traditionally pro-life state and the case could end up becoming a landmark ruling if a judge allows it to go forward.
The embryos were created in 2013 when Nick and Sofia were still a happy couple and were trying to have a baby by in-vitro fertilization. They had two unsuccessful rounds before breaking up in 2014, leaving the two unused embryos that Nick has been fighting over ever since their ugly split. The new lawsuit says that Nick wants full custody so he can have the embryos implanted in a surrogate, and to add insult to injury is demanding that Sofia have no parental rights!
HollywoodLifers, do you think this case should be allowed to go forward? Or should a judge throw it out?
