Tragedy has struck the rap community today, after it was revealed that legendary rapper Big Syke died at the too-young age of 41 on Monday, December 5. It’s suspected that the artist died of natural causes.
Big Syke, real name Tyruss Himes, was found dead in his home in Hawthorne, California on December 5, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to TMZ. The LAPD first responded to a call at the home, and then the LA Coroner reportedly arrived. No foul play is suspected in Syke’s death.
Though an autopsy has yet to be performed, it’s thought that the rapper died of natural causes. Sky allegedly suffered from heart issues and problems with obesity.
Syke and Tupac were good friends, and he performed on many of the late rapper’s most famous tracks from All Eyez on Me: “All Eyez on Me”, “Picture Me Rollin'”, and “Check Out Time.” He was a member of Tupac‘s Thug Life and the Outlawz groups. While he was in the Outlawz, he went by the name Moozaliny. He released four albums: Be Yo’ Self, Big Syke Daddy, Street Commando, and his last album, the self-titled Big Syke, in 2002. May he rest in peace.
