This is big! One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson, 24, is launching his very own solo career, according to a new report from The Sun. He’s ready to embark upon new projects and is already working on “some really amazing music.” Insiders told the publication, “He’s played some to the powers that be at Syco, who are really excited.” While some fans expected him to part ways with Simon Cowell‘s label, he reportedly has every intention of sticking with the man who helped raise him to the top. In addition, “The [team] thinks he could be a real success as a solo artist, given his proven ability to write hit records and massive fan base as part of 1D.”
Louis is reportedly honing his songwriter skills and has already been in the studio. He definitely has major potential. Just take a look at the sky-rocketing careers of his former bandmates who also decided to do their own thing. Zayn Malik, 23, has been slaying the music game, recently taking home the prize for Best New Artist of the Year at the 2016 American Music Awards. He had the funniest shocked response to his win. “Wow. This just has my name on it, right? I can’t thank the people who have been with me every day the past year enough.”
Meanwhile, Harry Styles, 22, signed a solo record deal with Columbia Records on June 23, earning a whopping $80 million to produce three albums. Niall Horan, 23, also just brought the heat with his fan-favorite single “This Town” which he performed at the AMAs. As if that’s not enough, Liam Payne, 23, launched his solo career with the legendary Capitol Records back in July, taking to Twitter with a heartfelt message. “One direction will always be my home and family but I’m very excited to see what this chapter brings.” We need tissues!
