NBC sure has been good to Jordan Smith! Nearly a full year after he was named winner of ‘The Voice,’ the powerful vocalist returned to the network for THREE holiday performance on ‘Christmas in Rockefeller’ 2016 — and, as always, it was beyond incredible.
Jordan Smith took the stage toward the beginning of the Christmas in Rockefeller center, and looked well in the holiday spirit thanks to his glittering, dark red blazer. And that voice — he literally made every note of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” sound effortless, which of course, is not surprising. Later in the show, Jordan returned to the stage to sing “You’re A Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” which was equally as amazing, then he came back AGAIN for a rendition of “Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town.”
The Voice winner just released his holiday album, Tis The Season, at the end of October, so there was truly no one better to perform at this event than him. He’s been making his rounds on the Christmas performance circuit recently, too, with his own holiday special AND an appearance on CMA’s Country Christmas earlier this week. Plus, the 23-year-old also returned to the place that started it all with a performance on The Voice on Nov. 22!
Of course, he was just one of many performers at Christmas In Rockefeller, which also featured appearances from Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Tori Kelly and Dolly Parton, among others. Plus, of course, there was also the annual lighting of the massive Christmas tree in Rockefeller Center — this year, the spruce stood at 94 feet tall and 56 feet wide. NO BIG DEAL! The event was hosted by Today show anchors Al Roker, Savannah Guthrie, Matt Lauer and Hoda Kotb, and it totally has us feeling in the festive mood as the holiday season approaches.
HollywoodLifers, what did you think of Jordan’s performance? Will you be checking out his holiday album?
