Ashley Graham is stunning on her first ‘Vogue’ magazine cover — the model graces the January 2017 issue of ‘British Vogue.’ Get the details on her look below!
Vogue revealed the cover on November 30 and Ashley Graham is really gorgeous. She’s rocking a “no makeup makeup” look — very cool next door. If your next door neighbor has perfectly flushed skin, pouty lips, sultry eyes and perfect, wavy hair!
Ashley is wearing an embellished leather jacket — it’s accented with lace, chains and patches, including a heart that says “Elvis.”
Ashley is a body activist and shies away from being called a “plus-sized” model. Instead, she prefers simply model, and says the industry is moving in the right direction. She told Racked in October:
“Slowly but surely there are really big designers that are coming out of the woodwork and making clothes for curvy girls, Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung. There are a few that are finally pairing up with the right people, but there are so many more that need to do what Michael Kors has done, Donna Karan, Calvin Klein, and make those extended sizes. But what I really want to see — and those designers included — is for designers to make their high-end lines go up in extended sizes, because I wanna buy it!”
She continued to Racked: “When I came into the industry at 12 years old I didn’t understand what perfection was, I didn’t understand what plus size was, or what the modelling industry was about. I never really got criticism until I moved to New York. And it wasn’t really the fashion industry that gave me flack, it was more society. It was people looking at me and saying, ‘You’re a model?’ In reality, what we need to be doing is not just changing the fashion industry but challenging the perception at home of what beauty really is.”
Shot by famed photographer Patrick Demarchelier in New York City, the British Vogue cover is stunning, casual and cool. The mag hits stands on December 5.
