Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson will be teaming up for one powerhouse duet in the highly-anticipated ‘Hairspray Live!’ on Dec. 7. HollywoodLife.com talked EXCLUSIVELY to Ariana Grande about the performance, and she couldn’t stop gushing about the Oscar winner. She said that rehearsing with JHud was a ‘powerful’ experience.

Ariana is playing Tracy Turnblad’s best friend Penny Pingleton and Jennifer is playing Motormouth Maybelle. They will sing “Come So Far (Got So Far to Go)” in the grand finale of the live musical event. The song was originally sung by Queen Latifah, 46, in the 2007 film. Ariana and Jennifer have been posting cute Instagram photos as they rehearse the show.
Hairspray Live! is one of the most highly-anticipated TV events of the year. Newcomer Maddie Baillio is making her acting debut as lovable and confident Tracy Turnblad. She’ll join Derek Hough, 31, Martin Short, 66, Harvey Fierstein, 62, Dove Cameron, 20, and Garrett Clayton, 25, in the holiday production. Hairspray Live! will air from Los Angeles on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
