Wow, this is SO crazy! Just 2 days before kidnapped Cali mom Sherri Papini was found chained on the side of a road, a woman named Christine believes she saw her at a truck stop! The blonde mother-of-two was reportedly ‘subdued’ & ‘scared,’ and was accompanied by two men — not two woman like Sherri told police. Read Christine’s shocking account here.
Christine Everson, a 54-year-old marketing director, says she saw a woman who closely resembled Sherri Papini on Nov. 22 at a truck stop, just 20 days after the California mom mysteriously vanished while out for a jog near her northern Cali home. Christine even approached the “scared” looking blonde woman, asking if she needed help because she was convinced it was Sherri — or at least someone else in dire need.

And while Sherri was found alive on a California road on Nov. 24 and is currently recovering in a hospital, Christine’s eerie account of what she saw that night could be an important piece in figuring out what happened to the blonde mother-of-two. Christine noticed a woman at around 7 p.m. at a Travel Center stop on the outskirts of Redding, California. She was with her husband and her son who were filling up their car for an out-of-town trip.
Christine noticed that the woman looked frightened and was with two men who kept going back and forth into the travel center. “It was dark and I looked over and thought, ‘Why are those men going back and forth from the truck and the woman isn’t?’ You know a woman always wants to take a potty break and look what’s in the store,” Christine recalled to Daily Mail.
“We were there for 20 minutes, pumping fuel and whatnot, and my husband was like, ‘What are you doing?’ I saw this blonde lady in a blue pickup truck about 10 yards away from where we were parked and I kind of did a double take. I said, ‘This looks like Sherri Papini here,’ so I walked over, the guys had left the car, I walked over and her window was down a little.”
Christine believed the woman was Sherri because she had seen a lot of the news stories on television covering her disappearance. “She was blonde and very pretty, and I thought it could definitely be her, she was the right age,” she explained. “I obviously haven’t seen Sherri in person so I couldn’t be 100 percent, but it was a close enough resemblance that I couldn’t just drive away and have that question mark in my mind.”
Surprisingly however, when Christine approached the woman, she was virtually unresponsive. “I said, ‘You look like that woman who was abducted here in Redding, are you OK?’” Christine told the publication. “She never answered me, she didn’t answer yes, she didn’t answer no, she just looked at me. And I said, ‘Are you being held against your will? Do you need me to call 911 right now?’ And again she didn’t answer.”
Christine, who also noted that the woman looked “tired,” “worn-out,” and “scared.” didn’t give up then though. After all, she’s part of a local anti-sex trafficking coalition and figured the woman may have been a sex trafficking victim. “I said, ‘I’d be willing to meet you in there and we can make arrangements for you if you are being trafficked, or there is a phone number in there and we have safe houses here in Redding.’ She said, ‘Thanks.’ That’s all she said to me and put her head down. Something wasn’t right.”
The mom-of-five ended up calling the police. She gave them the number of the car and a description of the two men who were with the blonde woman. Troubled by what happened, Christine added, “She was definitely subdued, almost cautious. She seemed scared in the sense that she didn’t want to be caught talking to me, in the way that a child has been told not to talk to strangers. She was extremely hesitant and wouldn’t give me any eye contact.”
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — are you shocked that Christine believes she saw Sherri two days before she was found? Do you think it was really her?
