Ten are left, and with the semifinals just one week away, the remaining contestants have a LOT at stake with their performances in the Nov. 28 episode. Keep up with everything that goes down in our live blog right here!
The first artist to take the stage is Billy Gilman, a former country star who’s going back to his musical roots with a Martina McBride song chosen by his coach, Adam Levine. Billy gives a gorgeous rendition of “Anyway” when he takes the stage, and as always, the crowd completely erupts when he’s done.
Courtney Harrell from Blake Shelton’s team is up next, and she takes on an 80s classic, “If I Could Turn Back Time,” by Cher for her Quarterfinals performance. Just as her coach predicted, she absolutely “knocks it out of the park” when the show goes live — and can we talk about how amazing she looks in that black outfit?!
It’s another big moment for country music on Team Adam when Josh Gallagher sings Tim McGraw’s “Real Good Man.” Tim was actually an adviser earlier this season, and he obviously leaves big shoes to fill, but the song is right in Josh’s wheelhouse. Can’t you just hear him singing his own country song on the radio RIGHT now?!
Next up is Miley Cyrus’ artist Aaron Gibson, who’s been in the Bottom 2 the last two weeks, but has made it this far thanks to America’s votes in the Instant Save. This week, he’s channeling those Instant Save song choices by taking on Elton John, and he gives an incredible performance when he takes the stage!
Adam and his band, Maroon 5, get their turn on The Voice stage next — they perform their latest hit “Don’t Wanna Know” and it’s obviously AMAZING! It’s back to the competition now, though, as Christian Cuevas from Team Alicia Keys performs an inspirational rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Million Reasons.” SO beautiful!
Team Blake’s Austin Allsup goes 80s pop for his performance of “Missing You” by John Waite next, rocking out like he does best, while also showing off a bit of a softer side. It’s the perfect combination for the country rocker, and he sounds great! The competition’s youngest remaining contestant, We McDonald, from Team Alicia, is up next and she prepares powerful rendition of “God Bless The Child” by Billy Holiday. Seriously, how does she sing like that?! The last high note she hits is beyond insane!
Brendan Fletcher from Adam’s team changes things up by slowing it down with a mellow version of “True Colors” for his performance. Per his coach’s advice, he makes the song completely his own, and it was the right risk to take at such a crucial point in the competition.
Next, another country singer from Team Blake, Sundance Head, performs “Me & Jesus.” After landing in the Top 10 on the iTunes charts last week, Sundance has to keep the momentum up, and that’s just what he does with his Bluegrass arrangement. Perfection!
The final performance of the night is from Miley’s second remaining contestant, Ali Caldwell. The powerhouse vocalist goes ‘back to basics’ with Harry Nilsson’s “Without You,” and her voice sounds just perfect on the track. What a way to end the show, right?!
Two will be eliminated in the Nov. 29 episode of The Voice based on America’s votes, so make sure you’re supporting the singers you like best!
HollywoodLifers, who did you think gave the best performance on tonight’s The Voice? Who do you think will go home?
