Oh no! While Kim Kardashian has been by husband Kanye West’s side throughout his hospitalization, once he is released is when things will become even tougher for the reality star. Keep reading for all of the incredibly stressful challenges that await her when he finally comes home.
So sad! Kanye West, 39, remains in UCLA Medical Center after suffering an alleged breakdown Nov. 21, but he’s eventually going to be released and that’s when wife Kim Kardashian, 36, is going to face the greatest test in their marriage. “This is going to be Kim’s biggest ever challenge and she’s going to need a lot of help. If Kanye is going to make a full recovery, it’s going to require a professional team approach,” Los Angeles based marriage and family therapist Dr Wendy O’Connor tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Kim and Kanye are going to need a lot of professional help and to stick to their care plan to get through this difficult time”
“The team plan needs to be in place before he gets home so that everyone is on board with what will be happening. This will involve his doctors, therapists, caregivers, plus Kim and Kanye so that everyone is on the same page and feels secure with the goals that are being set for him,” Wendy tells us.
“There should also be a family meeting set-up by Kim and her entire family so that they all know how to set-up a stress free environment for Kanye to recover in. It’s vital that he understands that he’s being treated in a safe and loving manner, as his mental health could still be very fragile,” the doctor adds, noting that they’ll have to monitor all of Yeezy’s personal needs. “His sleep and eating habits will have to be monitored when he returns home. The medication that he is taking will have to be closely controlled as well. Kim will have to be involved in couple’s counseling as well as individual and family therapy too.” Man, she’s going to have her hands full!
Dr. Wendy – who offers help to families on her website – also brings up the fact that Kim herself is still trying to mentally and emotionally heal from her terrifying Paris armed robbery, and having to care for Kanye is going to take a toll on the reality star. “The other huge issue is that she is still dealing with her own Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome after the Paris robbery. It is difficult for her because she has to come across as this really strong woman and mother to the rest of the world while coping with her husband’s illness, when deep down inside she could be feeling very fragile herself. Kim needs to make sure she’s getting therapy herself to deal with these issues so that she can function and help Kanye.”
