Wow — Andy Cohen revealed on the Nov. 25 episode of ‘Live With Kelly’ that he was diagnosed with melanoma after Kelly Ripa discovered a black dot on his lip. So is Andy okay? WATCH!
Andy Cohen, 48, opened up about his skin cancer scare when he took his turn as a co-host for Live with Kelly! You can watch it above.
“I have to shout you out for something that you don’t know I’m going to shout you out for,” Andy began, speaking to Kelly Ripa, 48. “But I had this black dot on my bottom lip that, you and I were at a party for Anderson‘s mom [Gloria Vanderbilt] in April and you said, ‘You have a black dot on your lip, I don’t think that’s something good,'” he added. So frightening!
“I just want to thank you because you were so dogmatic,” Andy added, after Kelly joked that she was like a dog with a bone on how she kept checking up on him to see if he’d had the dot taken care of. “I am essentially at this point a dermatologist,” she quipped. Andy revealed that he did have the dot removed, and he’s totally fine. Phew!
Unfortunately, skin cancer is more common than we like to think, and Andy isn’t the only celeb to have an encounter with it recently. Khloe Kardashian had eight inches of skin removed when she discovered a mole on her back, and Hugh Jackman has battled skin cancer, mostly recently in the form of Basal Cell Carcinoma on his nose.
