Yas queen! Daya braved the chilly New York City weather on Thanksgiving morning to rock her awesome hit, ‘Words,’ while perched atop the festive NHL float, surrounded by men juggling on unicycles. We have all the details on her amazing performance, right here!
We love watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and seeing all of the awesome floats that go by, but we’d be lying if we said we weren’t a little extra excited to see our girl Daya, 18 on Nov. 24! The up-and-coming pop sensation absolutely dazzled from the top of the NHL float, which had the coolest theme of the whole parade with a sporty vibe!

It may have been freezing cold outside in New York City, but the pop princess still managed to look like a vision of beauty rocking a wool coat and winter hat. Her silky chocolate hair was work in loose waves, while her makeup was on-point. Major holiday style goals!
Daya was in great company at the long-awaited parade. Kelsea Ballerini, Tony Bennett, Aloe Blacc, Chloe x Halle, De La Soul, Brett Eldredge, Fitz & the Tantrums, Maddie & Tae, Sarah McLachlan, Regina Spektor, and Timeflies all performed on floats of all different shapes and sizes and did a killer job!
Daya has exploded on the pop scene in 2016. She first stepped out with her song “Hide Away” at the end of 2015, but she’s kept her name on the top of the charts with songs like “Sit Still, Look Pretty,” and The Chainsmokers‘ “Don’t Let Me Down,” which she did the vocals for. Daya has a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and we hope she just keeps going up from here!
