It’s all come down to this! Hours and hours of practice, injuries for both the professionals and the stars, laughter and tears, but one couple came out on top — see who won the Mirrorball trophy below!
The finale of Dancing With The Stars on Nov. 22 was filled with memorable moments, tears, live performances and of, course, a new winner!
The night kicked off with a live performance by former competitor Andy Grammer, with Allison Holker and Keo Motsepe dancing.
The top three — Calvin Johnson Jr. & Lindsay Arnold, James Hinchcliffe & Sharna Burgess, and Laurie Hernandez & Valentin Chmerkovskiy — each performed their favorite dance from the season.
We were also treated to live performances from Vanilla Ice and Babyface!
I especially loved a performance by all the male dancers to Bruno Mars‘ 24K Magic!
For the finale, each couple had 24 hours to prepare a fusion dance to get their final scores.
Sharna and James did a Viennese Waltz and Foxtrot. Len Goodman said he wished he could dance like James. Julianne Hough said she wished she could dance WITH James. She added that she loved seeing their special bond. Bruno Tonioli called James a class act. Carrie Ann Inaba said “when you dance, you transport all of us into this world of dreams where all men can lead beautifully with incredible technique and take us up into a fairytale.” They got a perfect 40!
Next, Calvin and Lindsay did a Jive and Quickstep fusion. Julianne said it was a perfect fusion dance. Bruno said it was a delicious cocktail with tons of charm. Carrie Ann said Cavin makes the world a better place because he is an every man’s man, dancing. Len said it was lovely to watch. They got a perfect 40!
Laurie and Val closed the night with a Foxtrot and Argentine Tango. Bruno called her a spectacular dancer and said she had grown into a great performer. Carrie Ann said it was her best dance ever, by far. Len said the performance was fabulous. Julianne said she came out with a bang and finished it with a bang! They got a perfect 40!
Then, Tom Bergeron announced that Laurie will be joining the DWTS tour!
In the end, Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy WON THE MIRRORBALL!
