First responders at the scene after 911 was called on Kanye West described his condition as a ‘psychiatric emergency’ in the first radio call following their arrival. Listen to the shocking dispatch call right here.
The exact reason for Kanye West’s hospitalization is still unknown, but the urgent radio call from the scene, obtained by TMZ, gives us a closer look into what’s going on with the rapper. A paramedic who arrived at the scene described the situation as a “psychiatric emergency” upon a first evaluation of ‘Ye, and is heard asking for backup from the fire department on the call.
As we previously reported, first responders showed up to Kanye’s trainer, Harley Pasternak’s, home after someone at the house called 911 claiming the 39-year-old was “acting erratically.” Kanye reportedly tried to resist being taken in for an evaluation, but wound up being handcuffed to a stretcher and transported to UCLA Medical Center on the opinion of his doctor, TMZ reports.
This shocking hospitalization comes following Kanye’s two major onstage rants in the past week. After going off about politics during one show, he then bashed his friends Beyonce and Jay Z at a concert a few days later, then eft the stage early after arriving 90 minutes late. Two days later, he called off the rest of his Saint Pablo tour, which was set go until a New Year’s Eve show in Brooklyn. Interestingly, all of this has been happening during the same month of the 9-year anniversary of Kanye’s mother’s death, which could understandably be taking a toll on him.
On the same day of Kanye’s alleged ‘breakdown,’ Kim Kardashian, 36, was set to make her first public appearance in New York since being robbed at gunpoint on Oct. 3. Upon arriving in the Big Apple, she quickly turned around and rushed back to L.A. to be by her husband’s side. No update has been given on Kanye’s condition since news of hospitalization broke.
