Zyanna was just 10 years old, loved to dance, and had a good heart, her stepfather told WREG. DaQuesha Jermichael, who said she was Zoey’s sister, revealed that the crash also affected her brother Zack who is now in intensive care with a collapsed lung and a broken arm, according to a GoFundMe page to raise funds for funeral and medical expenses.
“She was a strong baby girl,” DaQuesha said. “She’s watching over her family and her strength is within my baby brother. He’s a fighter.” Zoey’s uncle, Twon McClain, shared a photo of himself with his niece on Facebook, and asked followers to pray for his family. LaTesha Ballard, Dayja’s mother, also updated her Facebook page, changing her profile picture to a collage of her daughter.
LaTesha’s friends left their messages of condolences for the grieving mother, including one who said, “So sorry for your loss, I’m praying for you and your family. Your daughter was so very beautiful. Rest In Heaven Princess Dayja!!”
The man behind the wheel during the deadly crash, Johnthony Walker, 24, was arrested on Nov. 22. He was charged with five counts of vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and reckless driving. And as one parent, whose children were injured in the incident, revealed, Johnthony allegedly had a tendency to speed when picking up the kids and dropping them off.
