It’s been five years since we’ve heard from the ‘Cars’ cast — and we finally have a look at what’s to come in the third movie. On Nov. 21, Disney and Pixar released the first quick teaser video for ‘Cars 3,’ and well… it’s not pretty.
The 49-second clip features race car number 95 — Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) cruising around the track — and getting in a crash. With that, the screen goes black and a message appears: “From this moment, everything will change.” Since the 2011 sequel to Cars, we haven’t heard much about what’s to come in the net movie — until now. But we know we should expect a feeling more like we got in the original 2006 film.
“We’ve got some great new characters, some great racing in it. It’s a very emotional story. It’s a little bit more akin to Cars 1, where you get into a deep emotion with him,” Pixar exec and director John Lasseter told Entertainment Weekly last summer. “It’s really a special story. It’s very emotional and his relationship with Doc Hudson, and his memory of Doc Hudson.”
Larry the Cable Guy will return as Mater, Bonnie Hunt as Sally Carrera, and Cheech Marin as Ramone. The movie will also introduce some new characters, like Cruz Ramirez, an up and coming car who will give older vehicle McQueen some pointers on how to keep up with the young guys.
Cars 3 hits theaters June 16, 2017. HollywoodLifers, are you excited to see it?
