Kanye West dared to go after Beyoncé in an insane concert rant on November 19, alleging that she hurt him deeply when she won Video of the Year over him at the MTV Video Music Awards. But there’s more to it than that! Click through to watch Kanye’s bizarre tirade!
“This is a moment in the Matrix, bro! Beyoncé, I was hurt! ‘Cause I heard that you said you wouldn’t perform unless you won Video of the Year over me, and over ‘Hotline Bling’,” Kanye told the 13,000 people in his audience before realizing that insulting Beyoncé would never, ever work out in his favor. Good call!
“In my opinion—now, don’t go tryin’ to diss Beyoncé, she is great,” Kanye said, catching himself. “We are all great people, we are all equal. But sometimes, we be playin’ the politics too much and forgettin’ who we are—just to win. F**k winning! F**k lookin’ cool!”
So it certainly seems that Kanye is implying that Beyoncé allegedly rigged the MTV Video Music Awards in her favor. He may have told the audience that he’s not trying to diss Beyoncé, but the damage is done. Oh, get ready for the Beyhive to start swarming, Kanye. We’re wondering where Kanye heard that information; Beyoncé deservedly won Video of the Year for “Formation”, up against Drake‘s “Hotline Bling” and Kanye’s “Famous”, among others. Her explosive medley of songs from Lemonade was one of the most epic moments of the night, if not our year in music.
Wow! That was far from the only controversial thing Kanye said during the show, which he started 1.5 hours late, and ended after performing for 15 minutes. What a ripoff! Kanye went after Bey’s husband, Jay Z, as well, calling his former friend out for not calling him; it’s thought that he’s referring to after Kim Kardashian‘s Paris robbery on October 3. He also alleged that Jay has “killers” who could come after him. What is he even talking about?
