Molly Sims, 43, and her hubby Scott Stuber, 47, already have two beautiful children together: son Brooks, 4, and daughter Scarlett, 1, but they’re expecting yet another one — a baby boy — by the end of the year! Dishing about her third pregnancy, the model sat down with us to talk about motherhood, what it’s like to freeze your eggs, and pregnancy at 43 years old. Obviously Molly offered us MORE than a few pearls of wisdom!
“It’s my third pregnancy and I’m 43. It’s definitely much harder,” Molly revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY during her podcast interview. “I was pretty sick with Brooks, really sick with Scarlett, and the first five months I was so nauseous I vomited in parking lots. In my sink. It was definitely a tough one.” Yikes! That sounds pretty miserable, right? But according to Molly, the journey has been much smoother since her vomiting-in-parking-lot days.
“The middle months have been good because I have more energy,” the star said, but added that, due to her age, she “feels it more.” “It’s more challenging and I feel my age,” she said. But if she is “feeling it,” she sure doesn’t let it show! After all, the blonde beauty looks fabulous with a baby bump, and there’s no question she enjoys being a mother — even though it may have taken her a bit longer to get there.
“I met my Prince later in life,” Molly explained of how she went about freezing her eggs at 37. “I think women are putting off having children because they have a career or haven’t met the one. They simply want to wait… I basically took it into my own hands.” Molly decided that no matter what she wanted to at least try to have a kid, and egg freezing seemed like her best option.
“If you’re going to wait, wait, but be proactive,” the star advised. “That’s the best advice I can give. Try to be healthy. Stop smoking. Sometimes when you really want something, it doesn’t happen. So you have to get your mind around that it might take time.”
And the best part of all? It left Molly feeling completely empowered and in control! “It gave me peace of mind,” she explained. “Women need an insurance policy. It made me feel good — there is no judgement.” Now Molly seems as if she couldn’t be happier. In fact, she embraces all that motherhood has to offer — even the messes!
She’s aso teamed up with Deft detergent to unveil America’s Messiest Baby Contest, which invites families to submit photos of their favorite messy baby moments for the chance to win prizes — including being on the cover of the May issue of Parents Magazine! Molly — and Deft’s — philosophy is that with the right tools, parents can stop worrying about the messes and enjoy all the “beautiful” and “memorable” moments of life.
To enter Deft’s Messiest Baby contest, submit a pic of your own messy child to www.parents.com/dreftmessiestbabycontest or post your photo to Twitter or Instagram using the hashtag #messiestbabycontest. We can only imagine how excited Molly must be to experience many more messy moments in the future!
