Kanye West didn’t cast a ballot in the 2016 election, but if he did…it would’ve been for Donald Trump. The rapper made this shocking confession during a Nov. 17 concert, where he went on a long-winded rant about politics and racism. Watch here!
“I told y’all I didn’t vote, right?” Kanye West, 39, asked the crowd at his Saint Pablo tour in San Jose on Nov. 17. “But I didn’t tell you, I guess I’ll tell you, but if I were to vote, I would’ve voted [Donald] Trump.” WHOA! ‘Ye hasn’t talked about his political viewpoints, but he and Kim Kardashian, 36, have previously posed for a selfie with Hillary Clinton, 69, and Kim and her family have been vocal in their support for the Democratic candidate.
From there, the rapper went on a pretty wild rant, admitting that “there was things that I liked about Trump’s campaign” and explaining that this is the “beginning of change.” “Somethings that you might think are bad have to happen in order for change to f***ing happen,” he told the crowd. “Sometimes, you might have to not get your way to really understand what to do in the future to be able to get your way.”
And that’s not to say he’s against Hillary or other politicians — he actually wants all their ideas to mesh together. “The Republicans, the Democrats — everyone that had an idea that people agreed with, should be the collective ideas that are used to run our country,” he ranted. “So it’s things that Benjamin Carson says that I believe in. I think that Benjamin Carson should still be a consultant. I think that Hillary Clinton should still be a consultant. I think that Bill Clinton should be a consultant. I think Obama should still be a consultant. It’s not, ‘Oh, I don’t f*** with your principles so now I’m not going to give you information that could help you help all of us.'” Well, he has a good point there.
HollywoodLifers, what do you think of Kanye saying he’d vote for Trump?
