Miranda Lambert & Anderson East Recall ‘Falling Fast’ For Each Other On Sweet Duet: Listen

Anderson East is a guest vocalist on a track for his girlfriend, Miranda Lambert’s new album, and it certainly seems like the song is about the pair’s own whirlwind relationship! ‘Pushin’ Time’ tells the story of an unexpected romance, and you can listen right here.

Miranda Lambert, 33, kept majorly low-key in the months following her split from Blake Shelton, 40, in July 2015, so everyone was pretty shocked when it was revealed just five months later that she’d been dating Anderson East, 28, following the divorce. The pair began flaunting their romance publicly shortly after that and have been happily together ever since, but the origins of their relationship were unknown…until now, it seems!

The song “Pushin’ Time” on Miranda’s new album The Weight of These Wings is actually a duet with her man, and the story and timeline match up to it being about their real-life love story. In the lyrics, the date Sept. 12 is mentioned as the first night the song’s subjects spent together, which would’ve fallen after the Blake split and long enough before the Anderson romance went public to make sense.

The pair notes that the relationship may have been “rushed” and happened “overnight” in the lyrics, and are also aware that it might not last forever with the line, “Can’t take it slow cause you and I are pushin’ time.” However, by the end, it’s clear they can’t live without each other as they sing, “If it has to end in tears, I hope it’s in 60 years.” So sweet!
