Mike and Ginny are an epic will they/won’t they couple, but definitely stand apart from others on TV. That’s part of the reason Mark-Paul Gosselaar isn’t so into the idea of them actually getting together… but that doesn’t mean it won’t happen eventually.
“It just continues down this road. I think that they would be romantically involved if the circumstances were different,” Mark-Paul Gosselaar said on that flirty back-and-forth we’ve been seeing for weeks between Mike and Ginny. For him, the “slow burn” works, and honestly, he’s hoping that’s how it stays. You know, like looking at each other through a curtain while you’re posing for a naked photo shoot? Right.
When we spoke with Mark-Paul, 43, months ago, after he had just filmed the pilot, he said was very uninterested in making their bond a romantic one — and now he still feels the same. “I don’t want it to go romantic in the pure sense of that word. I like that they’re romantic without having the typical relationship that we see on television,” he added. “They obviously care for each other, [and] there might be love there, I don’t know.”
Obviously, the circumstances — they are teammates — make that tough, Mark-Paul admits, adding that he’s not sure they even could act on any feelings if they wanted to. Maybe that will change if his career changes? We know that’s a possibility. However, one thing is for sure: that relationship they have right now will only get stronger. Regardless if it becomes a romantic relationship or stays where it’s at.
“You’re going to see the relationship flow like people who are actually in a relationship, but were not actually in a quote relationship,” Mark-Paul added. “It’s interesting, such a cool thing for it to continue in this direction.”
